Formed on April ,2017 after the administrative bifurcation from paschim Medinipur, Jhargram became the 22nd district of West Bengal where the tourist flock for its sensational natural beauty basically in the from of deep forests of shaal, mahul etc. Royal places and folk music and folk culture.a draught prone area.with the avarage rainfall of about 1500mm of infertile laterite soil, Jhargram besically a tropical district is known for "its wooded beauty" and holly religions of belpahari. Geographically it's shares the common borders with Orissa and jharkhand.The khangsabati ,the tarafeni,the subarnarekha and the Dulong are the most important rivers .the economy mainly depends on cultivation and business. An enriched store house of tribal dances— Chou, Chuang,Chang, jhumur ,Rampa ,Tusu – Jhargram is also maintaining also the normal and regular forms of Bengali cultures and festivals.
ABOUT TRANSPORATION
Not being well connected by air route, it's transportion besically depends on rail and road. By rail , Jhargram station is well connected to Howrah ,kharagpur, Tatanagar ,Ranchi,Asansole, Cuttack,Puri, Bhubaneswar,Delhi, Mumbai etc.
But still it's main transportation besed on road The SH5 that runs through the district is well connected with AH46,NH60,NH41,SH5,SH7 etc.Click
BEST TIME TO VISIT:
If you are not going anywhere during puja vacation,we would suggest you to visit Jhargram during this time as you will find the green revolution then as just the rainy season is over. Again you may plan during Dec-Jan -Feb . In winter too because in this you will perhaps got another form of beauty with the falling red leaves and rod laterite soil and a great view of landscape. And some who love rainy season you too many come to enjoy the falling rain dropping the jungal Charming sound and to enjoy the river Dulong and the Subarnarekha.But make sure that you have an umbrella with you.

1. MAA GUPTAMONI TEMPLE :

All including us believe that it'll surely be fulfilled.If you're traveling by NH6 ,get down and have a Darshana and prayer before this very very odd Durga here which might make your live even . Literally , the word "Guptamoni" means hidden treasure which actually implies 'hidden goddess' and the unique thing here is — instead of the Brahmins, the Lodha priest offer the prayers at the puja which was actually started by a woman of the Lodha tribe ,and the interesting thing is that the mantrass are chanted in Bengali instead of sanskrit! This is the place were Maa Durga is worshipped every day throughout the here instead of usually some fixed days of the here .Maa Guptamoni , also known as 'Baram Maa ', an Avtar of Maa Durga is better known as" goddess of highway sefety."
Almost all the driver who pass by either come down to pray or throw coin as offering to the goddess for road safety. During Durga Puja the whole place gets a festive look here with all the tribal culture. Legend runs that about to centuries before putu Bhokta , a middle aged Lodha women went with her husband in the forest to collect wood and leaves .and there she slumbeled upon a stone.Back at home ,Maa Durga appeared In her dream and scolded her for kicking her and ordered to go there again,to find her and start worshipping.
2. JUNGLE MAHAL FOREST:

4. JHARGRAM ECO TOURISM CENTRE AND TRIBAL MUSEUM :
If you search it on Google Map you'll find it definicity before you take your entry to jhargram.But when you'll ask the passers-by then you'll find that it's the1st time that they they listen to such for the Ist time . Better you should ask them if Bandorvola cottage. Perhaps you need not to ask as if you are conscious you'll find it on your right side as you are entering the town before Rajbari complex. 5. JHARGRAM RAJBARI :
Situated in the lap of nature the Jhargram Raj palace,bulit in 1931 with the palace blend of Italian and Islamic architecture still has the capacity to enthrall and Captivate the tourist.it is the current residence of the Malls Deb Royal family the ground floor has been covered into a Heritage hotel run by the Royal family. Its of 3,50,000 sqft , there is a rich history behind it sarveshswar Singh , around 1592AD under Man singh of Amar ,the subhehder of Bengal ,Bihar and Orissa , vanquishing the local mal tribal kings , re named the junglekhand as jhargram and from then the rule of jhargram,a gram sourronded by deep forest, assumed the title "Malla Deb" . The royal Raj had the golden era under the reign of Raja Narasimha Mall Deb under whom jhargram became a modern placed township and hence the new place that we're speaking of. The path towards the palace is nammed as Raja Narasimha Malla Deb Satanic. 6. SABITRI TEMPLE:
Sabitri temple in jhargram is considered as the oldest structure in jhargram being about 350 years old. It is the ancestral deity of the Malla Deb Dynasty worshipped in the form of DURGA , The rituals vof the Durga Puja following the puranas with the chanting vof mantras from Sri Sri Chandi for ten days from Mahalaya to Dashami with the skillful performance of dhakis ,are still organised by the ROYAL family . While you are entering the temple ,you will find a large banyan tree , providing shade to the people coming for puja . and at the back of the temple c, there is a large pond that is very much shooting to eyes

7. Kanak Durga Mandir:
13 kms. away from Jhargram chilkigarh Kanak Durga temple , in jamboni block is considered as one of the main attraction of the district . The Mandir is distinct because of its harmonius co - existence of tribal and Brahmins cultures . The temple is covered by a dense forest , full of medical plants of some 400 types by its one side flows Dulong river.the folk lover regarding this temple v revolves round a dream. Devi Mahamaya ordered king Gopinath to establish a temple of her and Debi herself have direction about her image . It was jogen dramatic kamilya who transformed that dream into today's realty. Though the deity is named after Durga .is seen a Mahamaya the ritual including animal sacrifice and as the folklover goes. The trial of blood had to flow down to the nearby Dulong before the Bali be stopped , in order to bring fertility of the land the Tantric tradition tells us that king Jagadish Chandra , a believe of the tradition was a disciple of sadhak Bama -khaypa who encourag the dairy offering of fish and rice to the deity. The river Dulong beside the very temple has created a very unknown and mysterious atomsphere and a sort of paganism. The very path leads to the river ghat is sourronded by the different.old medicinal trees. We can well assume how much cruel it becomes on heavy rain.
8 CHILKIGARH RAJ PALACE:
In the very beginning we should points out that this place Chas more attracted by jhargram RAJBARI but because of the Govt's concern on Jhargram RAJBARI , chilkigarh Raj palace is just to the background. In the midst of natural landscape and beside the sloppy river Dulong , chilkigarh Raj palace has more architectural beauty then , that of jhargram Raj palace .other then that you'll find two other temples , a vast land , some huge Mansions , if they would have been given care , perhaps would be more desired place the lap of really. Beautiful nature . A large chariot is there when we went there we find that a section of building of outer courtyard is used to run an office of jamboni integrated child development service project run by child development service project dept. Of w.b govt. Once the place was terribly distmed by the moist activity is now palcid one . Be we personally would like this place to be crowded with tourists and it's possible if the govt. Would take some concern for this hentage house beside jhargram Raj palace.
9. JUNGALMAHAL ZOOLOGICAL PARK:
Established as Deer park in 1980 , later to be recognised as jhargram Zoo ( small category) on 9 th SEP. 2005 by central Zoo Authority , JUNGALMAHAL ZOOLOGICAL PARK is besically a biodiversity of laterite eco system . Now a days , this park is getting much attention on part of both state and central government . And naturally it becomes the much hyped tourist destination whoever is coming to jhargram . Only 3kms. Away from jhargram Rly.station .this becomes a must -visit place. The main objective followed after it got central recognition as small type of zoo. Here are — scientific mangament of flora and fauna , conservation breeding of endangered species, high standard of maintenance for welfare of captives animals band to develop empathy for wildlife conservation . A total area of almost 33.2 hectares, the park at present has 187 mammals with 16 diff speds ;74 number of birds with 18 different species , 153 number of reptiles with 12 different specis . You will find here a very very good number of animals— leopard,hayna, Jackle ,sloth bear, spotted Deer , jungal cat , grey wolf , Bengal fox , rhesus monkey, Barking deer , star tortoise, and of birds , you'll have a look of water birds , peafowl ,emu ,heron peacock ,indian Robin , night heron , yellow wagtail, Kingfisher,Redmunia , purple heron , blue Rock pegion , tailor bird , Kingfisher and so many others.
